Who is Jeff Norrid?

Duke’s new offensive line coach who was hired by Duke’s new Head Coach Manny Diaz.

Jeff Norrid comes to Duke after a three-year stint (2021-23) as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator at the University of Louisiana. In two of his three seasons in Lafayette, La., Norrid helped Louisiana rank in the top-50 nationally in scoring and rushing offense. Additionally, he helped the Ragin' Cajuns post a 25-15 overall record with three consecutive bowl appearances and the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship.
 
In each of his three seasons, Norrid's offensive line ranked in the top-five in the Sun Belt in tackles for loss allowed, rushing offense and sacks allowed. Last year alone, Louisiana finished second in the conference in tackles for loss allowed, giving up just 5.31 per game. Additionally, the Ragin' Cajuns ranked third in rushing offense (175.7) and fifth in sacks allowed (1.92 per game).

Before being the offensive line coach for University Of Louisiana Jeff Norrid was on coaching staff at Florida Atlantic where he was offensive analyst in 2018 season before being elevated to the offensive line coach his final two years (2019-20). During his time with the Owls, Norrid mentored Junior Diaz and Brandon Walton to First Team All-Conference USA honors, while also helping Marquice Robinson to Freshman All-Conference USA accolades.
 
In his final campaign in Boca Raton, the Owls' offensive line blocked for a rushing unit that finished fourth in Conference USA, averaging 180.1 yards per game. The year prior, the line aided in just the fifth 2,000-yard season (2,324) by a rushing unit in program history and helped produce 32 rushing scores. In 2019, PFF ranked the Owls' offensive line as the 50th best in the nation and tabbed them the No. 17 ranked pass-blocking unit.
Jeff Norrid spent 1 season as as a college football research analyst for ESPN in 2017 where he helped create weekly matchup analysis and broadcast notes for ABC, ESPN, and SEC Network primetime crews following 2015-2016 seasons as offensive analyst for Auburn under Malzahn. While with the Tigers, he worked with the fullbacks.
 Before joining the Auburn staff, Norrid served six seasons (2009-14) as an offensive analyst at the University of Alabama, working with offensive coordinators Jim McElwain (2009-11), Doug Nussmeier (2012-13) and Kiffin (2014). While with the Crimson Tide, Norrid was part of Alabama's three national championship and SEC championship teams.
