Gerrit Cole To Start Opening Day For New York In Baltimore?
Earlier this week New York improved their starting rotation with Gerrit Cole who was drafted in 2008 by the team that wears the pinstripes but then he decided to go to college at UCLA.
Then in 2011 he was drafted by Pittsburgh Pirates who are a member of the National League Central as the number one overall pick where he spent five seasons from 2013 -2017. After his stint in Pittsburgh he went to Houston who is a member of the American League West where he spent two seasons. In his first season in Houston he finished with a record of 15-5 with an earn run average of 2.88. In his final season in Houston the right -hander finished with a record of 20-5 with a 2.50 earn run average. “according to https://www.mlb.com/player/gerrit-cole-543037
In his career against Baltimore he’s given up 6 hits, 1 home run , 3 runs batted in and struck out 15 while batters have a batting average of 143. “according to http://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/32081/teamId/1
In 2020 the right -hander will be beginning his tenure with the team that wears the pinstripes and the team he grew up rooting for which brings me to my question. Will Gerrit Cole start opening day when New York heads to Maryland on March 26th to take on Baltimore who like New York is a member of the American League East?
The starting rotation for the team that wears the pinstripes could look like this in 2020. “according https://www.nbcsports.com/boston/red-sox/2020-world-series-odds-gerrit-cole-yankees-wake-call-red-sox
