12th Ranked North Carolina Went On To Beat East Carolina 99-51 Monday Night Before Coaches, Players Went Their Separate Ways For The Christmas Holiday

North Carolina coaches, players had some business to take care of before going their separate ways for the Christmas holiday.

That business was beating East Carolina 99-51 on the hardwood Monday night in Chapel Hill!

It was accomplished because as a team 12th ranked North Carolina shot 34-63 on field goals for 54 % 12-25 on 3 pointers for 48 % 19-30 on free throws for 63 % . Four players scored in double figures. Caleb Wilson who is a freshman a forward was 7-11 on field goals , 7-13 on free throws to go along with 12 rebounds, 1 assists, 3 steals , 4 blocks , 21 points. Henri Veesaar who is a center a junior was 6-9 on field goals , 4-5 on 3 pointers to go along with 10 rebounds, 1 assists , 16 points. Luka Bogavac who is a freshman a guard was 5-9 on field goals , 1-3 on 3 pointers , 4-5 on free throws to go along 4 rebounds , 2 assists , 15 points. Seth Trimble who is a senior a guard was 5-12 on field goals , 1-3 on 3 pointers , 1-2 on free throws to go along with 4 rebounds , 5 assists , 1 steal, 12 points.

Following 12th ranked North Carolina going on to beat East Carolina 99-51 before the Christmas break Hubert Davis who is Head Coach shared his thoughts on Henri Veesaar who is a center a junior was 6-9 on field goals , 4-5 on 3 pointers to go along with 10 rebounds, 1 assists , 16 points by saying Henri, his ability to shoot the basketball is real,”Obviously he can score around the basket, but he’s pretty good beyond the arc... I felt like we took really good threes and we stepped up and were able to make them tonight.”

We don’t have to depend on them. We’re fortunate enough to go to a different guy.”

North Carolina coaches, players are now going to go their separate ways before returning to campus where they’re going to prepare to host Florida State who they’re going to play once this season on Tuesday December 30, 2025.

Like North Carolina,

Florida State won their previous game on Monday December 22, 2025 where they beat Jacksonville 87-63 in Tallahassee Florida where as a team Florida State shot 28-61 on field goals for 46 % 11-33 for 33 % on 3 pointers , 20-26 on free throws for 77 % . 5 players scored in double figures. Alex Steen who is a forward a senior was 5-8 on field goals , 1-3 on free throws to go along with 9 rebounds , 1 assists 11 points. Chauncy Wiggins who is a forward a senior was 6-12 on field goals , 2-7 on 3 pointers , 2-3 on free throws to go along with 3 rebounds , 1 assists, 1 steal , 16 points. Martin Somerville who is a guard a sophomore was 5-10 on field goals, 3 pointers , 8-8 on free throws to go along with 4 rebounds , 2 assists , 23 points . Lajae Jones who is a guard a senior was 3-5 on field goals , 1-3 on 3 pointers , 3-4 on free throws to go along with 5 rebounds , 1 steal , 1 block , 10 points . Thomas Bassong who is a forward a guard was 3-3 on field goals , 4-5 on free throws to go along with 8 rebounds , 10 points.

Following Florida State beating Jacksonville 87-63 Monday night in Tallahassee Head Coach Luke Loucks expressed how pleased he was with the team playing it’s best first half. Though, was still critical of how they finished the second half pointing out to defensive lapses as to why he felt the second half wasn’t as good . The first half was incredible.

The game is going to be televised on ESPN 2 with Dave O’Brien, Cory Alexander commentating!

Dave O’Brien serves as a play-by-play commentator for ESPN, calling college basketball and other marquee events across ESPN platforms. One of the most versatile and respected voices in sports broadcasting, O’Brien has been a trusted presence on national broadcasts for more than two decades. 

O’Brien joined ESPN in 2002 and has called a wide range of events for the network, including college basketball, Major League Baseball, and select NCAA Championships.  

In addition to his work with ESPN, O’Brien is also the television voice of the Boston Red Sox on NESN, a role he has held since 2016. Over his distinguished career, he has called MLB postseason games on both television and radio, the World Series, and numerous NCAA Tournament matchups, as well as NBA, NFL, and international soccer broadcasts. 

A graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, O’Brien began his professional career in radio before moving into national television.  

A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, O’Brien resides in the Boston area with his family. 

Cory Alexander joined ESPN in 2009, working as college basketball analyst on ESPN and ACC Network.

Before joining ESPN, Alexander worked as an analyst for the University of Virginia radio network and was an ACC Network commentator for Raycom Sports. He launched the Cory Alexander Basketball School in August 1995 and he still operates it as the owner and president.

His last season in the NBA came with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2004-2005, and he previously played for the Orlando Magic and Denver Nuggets. His first three seasons were spent with the San Antonio Spurs after they drafted him 29th overall in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft.

A 1995 graduate from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of science degree in psychology, Alexander is a native Waynesboro, Va. A four-year letterwinner, he ranks eighth in UVA history with 401 assists and 24th on their all-time scoring list with 1,286 points. Alexander earned second-team All-ACC honors and a gold medal at the FIBA U21 World Championship in 1993. Alexander was a McDonald’s All-American and Parade First Team All-American in 1991 at Oak Hill Academy (Va.).
