Following Isaiah Evans hitting three pointer to help Duke prevail 67-66 over Florida Tuesday night in ACC/ SEC Challenge sophomore guard Isaiah Evans shared his thoughts by saying A lot of our plays are read and react,so there’s a lot of like, second, third, fourth options out of those plays. But obviously I was one of those options. So you know, it’s gonna be hard to guard me and Cam and pick and roll situation. Obviously, with my shooting and his attacking.”

Following Isaiah Evans hitting three pointer to help Duke prevail 67-66 over Florida Tuesday night in ACC/ SEC Challenge Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer shared his thoughts by saying

At the end of the day,”“I think it shows there’s a mental toughness to this group, just to find ways to win. You know, Arkansas was a close game, obviously, Kansas down the stretch, and tonight, I think it says a lot about the character, a lot about the toughness.”

You always have to learn,”That’s why we did the schedule. But if we can, let’s learn through winning, and you just have to have that humility and understand that winning can make you soft. You know, winning can make you soft. And I think our guys have done a great job of continuing to figure out how to get better.”

Duke has passed their first two tests with wins over Arkansas, Florida. Can they pass their third test? A game with Michigan State in East Lansing on Saturday at noon.

Like Duke,

7th Michigan State is undefeated because they have a record of 8-0 because they beat Iowa on Tuesday night in East Lansing where three players scored in double figures Jaxon Kohler who is a forward a senior was 5-12 on field goals , 0-2 on 3 pointers , 2-2 on free throws to go along with 11 rebounds , 1 assists, 2 blocks 7 rebounds. Coen Carr who is a forward a junior was 5-8 on field goals , 0-1 on 3 pointers , 5-5 on free throws to go along with 5 rebounds, 1 assists 15 points. Jeremy Fears Jr. who is a guard a sophomore was 2-6 on field goals , 0-2 on 3 pointers , 10-10 on free throws to go along with 1 rebound, 6 assists , 14 points.

Following Michigan State 71-52 win over Iowa in East Lansing on Tuesday night Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo shared his thoughts on his team on Iowa by saying I've really been proud of my team tonight. I thought we played a top-25 team, I thought physically they beat the hell out of us the first six or seven minutes. I thought our assistants did a great job of saying what they were gonna do, slapping balls loose. They play hard, boy. They warm up hard. I was very impressed with that. Let's be honest about it: (Bennett) Stirtz had probably his worst game in a while. I think Jeremy and we deserve some credit, we don't deserve all the credit because he missed some free throws – he's probably never missed that many free throws in a game.We feel fortunate to win the game, but we won it the way that we had to win it. We bounced back, got a little tougher, we out-rebounded them by almost 20. I thought we defended really, really well. The ball-screen defense, they're really good at it, and I thought we did a great job. We said free throws were gonna be important, we got to the line and we converted. So if you rebound, you run pretty good, that takes care of a lot of things.

"And yet, we still turned it over a little bit too much and didn't really shoot it that well from the 3. We've still got some issues at the 2 we're trying to work through. The reason Cam Ward didn't play, he sprained his wrist in the last game. We just didn't think we should put him out there tonight, but that was a worry, too. Give Jesse McCulloch credit, because Coop struggled a little bit tonight, too, and he's been really good for us, still did some good things. But, five turnovers, had the ball knocked loose, missed a couple layups. Not maybe his best game, but he's been really good for us.

"What a day. You win a big game, you win your home opener in the conference and our football coach is on board and got to be here with our fans. So, hopefully things keep getting better. It's a big week."

What's impressed me the most is the connectivity, the camaraderie. It's not phony, it's special. Carson can play not his greatest game tonight and I still love him because of what he's done for our younger guys. It's been unbelievable, how he handles the locker room and things, what he's done for Jesse and Cam has been phenomenal. I think Jeremy is really coming into his own, that's impressed me. He's just become a better all-around player. All-around doesn't mean he's shooting better, defending better, passing better, but it means he's leading better. Good teams need a great leader. Boy, I was more impressed with how he led and how he was – I'm a big timeout guy. Ever since Draymond was with me, I never got to say anything in timeouts, and now that he's not here, I get to talk in those timeouts, and now Jeremy's talking. I realized, man, if I let Draymond and Jeremy and everybody else talk, it's an easier job. So I'm really proud of him for that and really pleased.

"I'm disappointed, yet, with our shooting in general. We shot 50%, but I don't think we're shooting the ball well enough. We need more consistency at the 2. And that's not all their fault – they're all new guys, they're all guys that haven't played any minutes here. So I gotta do a better job, and they gotta do a better job. But some of that falls on me, too. So I'm gonna try to do that now.

"We get through this week, and then we get finals, which means you get a little time. It's been an incredible month of basketball for us as far as not only travel but the teams we've played, how it's gone. We need a little practice time to get better. I gotta do a better job with those guys. That's on me."
