Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer’s new Assistant Coach.
KJ Conklin comes to Duke following coaching and player development stops at the NBA G League, Division I and junior college levels including Following four seasons at multiple levels of basketball, most recently serving as assistant coach and director of player development for the Austin Spurs, the NBA G League affiliate of the San Antonio Spurs. From 2022-24, he worked for the University of Texas men's basketball program, spending his last season with the Longhorns as director of player development.
Following announcing KJ Conklin as his new Assistant Coach Duke Head Coach Jon Scheyer shared his thoughts on the addition to his coaching staff by saying KJ is an unbelievable addition to our staff and our program,""He has a genuine passion for developing people and helping them reach their potential, and that comes through in every interaction. Throughout the process, his energy, work ethic, basketball knowledge, and ability to build meaningful relationships consistently stood out. KJ Conklin is replacing Evan Bradds who spent one season the 2025-2026 season as Jon Scheyer’s Assistant Coach at Duke following three seasons as an Assistant Coach to Will Hardy of the NBA’s Utah Jazz where Evan Bradds oversaw the Jazz player development program, working closely with NBA rising stars like Keyonte George, Walker Kessler, Cody Williams, and Colin Sexton . Evan Bradds became Head Coach of Belmont officially on Thursday March 19, 2026.
